Main ideas

-‘Replay’-the name of the magazine referring to elements of the past being utilised in music today​ 

-My focus is on 16-25 year olds and focuses particularly on elements from the 90s/ early 2000s due to their current trend and influence in music and style that my focus group were aware of. 

-There will be intertextual references to past pop icons such as Britney Spears for audiences with a shared cultural capital to understand.

-Another major component of my magazine is the focus on the revival of physical copies of music such as vinyl's and CDs which suggests why my audience would purchase a print magazine, as that desire for a physical copy has resurfaced.​ 

-There will also be a focus on live music events such as concerts and festivals within the magazine to encourage active audiences to support different artists, with reader submissions about gigs they have seen to increase interactivity.​ 

-My magazine has liberal and progressive views with one of my covers focusing on the progression of embracing sexuality in the music industry and mainstream media as these views reflect the zeitgeist.​

Brief- initial thoughts

 I am initially drawn to the magazine brief as I enjoyed creating a magazine for my NEA in GCSE’s and I have some ideas on which magazines I would like it to be similar to. I am more confident on Photoshop than IMovie and have used Photoshop a lot more.

Test Music Video- 4/3/24

 I have learned how to shoot and edit part of a music video in this task and next time, I would take more time in getting more interesting shots and try out more effects when editing such as opacity.

Big Issue Front Cover- 23/1/24

 In this task, I have learned how to follow a style from a magazine and how to create a relevant cover. I am pleased with my headline as it is a believable headline that the magazine would use and the placement of everything on the cover went well. However, next time I would cut out an image of the celebrity so that I could try placing the name of the magazine behind them.

The Big Issue Infographic- 20/12/23

 I have learned more about The Big Issue as a magazine and company during this task and how to create an infographic. I would change the distribution of the text next time as in the circles, it looks slightly crowded compared to the boxes.
