I read this article about Stranger Things as it is one of our set texts and chose three facts that I found interesting about the LFTD.
 13) shows the detail that goes into long form TV dramas due to the length of the series and quality of
Stranger Things itself.
 23) is interesting as the color grain is a way of creating the 80s mis-en-scene subtlety but
effectively as all shots now look older without sacrificing
quality by using old cameras.
40) despite this being from season 2, I think this is a good example of what a high budget can allow CGI to do and that CGI can be used for many things now and not just intense
effects

I read this GQ article on the set text Deustchland 83 and I found the section on the soundtrack interesting as it is not
just serving as a playlist but also references the freedom
on each side of the border by using English 80s pop songs.

I read a Dazed article about Paralympic fencing athlete Bebe Vio and I looked at the
representation on the cover. The long angle shot connotes strength and power and the
cover shows her disability such as her prosthetic foot, scars and arm without focusing
solely on those features. The bold masthead and striking image are the first things
that audiences eyes are drawn to which suggests that her disability doesn't
define her. This also relates to the River Island 'Labels are for Clothes' campaign
that empowers people with disabilities rather than exploiting them for praise.

I read this article from Dazed magazine about Rankin who is a photographer and
co-founder of Dazed as it is a magazine that I am looking into for my NEA. It was
inspiring to hear about where he started to where he got to and I loved this quote
from him.
“My photography was always based on making something, not taking something.”
He shot mostly portrait photography such as this striking image of Kate Moss.

I read this article from Dazed magazine about why the Green Party is becoming
increasingly popular with young people due to their clear focus on sustainability
issues and Labours' stance on the issues perhaps becoming unclear. It
mentioned how this could be due to young people realising that they are going to
be the ones dealing with the repercussions of issues such as climate change in
their lifetime so they feel more obligated to chose a Party who are activists for
these issues as opposed to a Party that is passive.

I read this article from the BBC about Edward Enninfuls' (British Vogues former editor-in-chief)
final British Vogue cover that included 40 female celebrities that he has previously worked with.
The article taught me about the benefits of loyalty in the industry and the struggles of organising
a shoot with this many stars resulting in success.

I chose to read a Media Magazine article on Lil Nas X’s ‘Sun Goes Down’ music video and create an infographic from it about what I have found and I now have a greater understanding of one of the set texts that I can use effectively.

I read the article ‘Is Barbie a Feminist Movie?’ from the Media Magazine and responded with my own opinions about the article and film itself.
